[Letter] 1857 Jan 26, Woodlawn to "my dear pastor" [John Albert Broadus] / Cornelia. 1857.

Having begun teaching school at the home of Broadus's sister Martha, Cornelia wrote of her progress. "I commenced the 18th with seven pupils. The weather has been so inclement that they have not been able to come since last week. Mr. Bickers thinks the school will number 12 and perhaps 15 scholars, most of them grown and some much ahead of me in years. I haven't seen the oldest yet but very much hope they are not smart in proportion to their ages; if they are I have no use for them."
